Model 4411 plate by Kayserzinn (J.P. Kayser Sohn), Germany, 1904–1905. Cast in art pewter with a shallow basin and asymmetrical rim incorporating a stylised wheat motif in low relief. The underside bears the stamped mark “Kayserzinn 4411”. The composition balances vegetal symbolism with restrained structural form, characteristic of German Art Nouveau metalwork around 1900.
Context

Founded in Krefeld in 1862, J.P. Kayser Sohn gained international recognition at the turn of the 20th century for its Kayserzinn art pewter. Early catalogue models from this period demonstrate a controlled integration of vegetal ornament with sculptural clarity, aligning with broader German Jugendstil design principles.

Condition Notes

Structurally sound with an even matte surface and stable rim. Surface shows age-related wear, light scratching, and patina consistent with early 20th-century pewter. A small stable hairline crack is visible along the rim.
