Danish pewter polar bear figural dish, likely mid 20th century, marked Victoria Tin. The piece has a shallow dish form with a standing polar bear figure positioned to one side.
Pewter was widely used across Scandinavian domestic metalware for small bowls, dishes, candlesticks, and decorative objects. Here, the plain functional bowl is given a sculptural element through the simplified polar bear figure, recalling the animal motifs and restrained ornament often seen in Art Deco-era decorative metalwork.
The piece can be used as a decorative dish, coin dish, pin tray, or small desk object.
