A Michael Harjes Brutalist bronze candleholder for Harjes Metallkunst, Germany, dating to c. 1960s–70s. Its compact single-stem form rises from three flared, petal-like feet, with a warm cast surface and subtle patina that shifts with the light. The balance between the slender stem and broad tripod base gives the piece a poised sculptural presence. 
Context

Founded in 1912, Harjes Metallkunst is a German family metal workshop known for cast Glockenbronze, or bell bronze. Michael Harjes developed the workshop’s distinctive sculptural household objects, and the family tradition continues today under Tobias Harjes.
